Over the years, the Associated Press (AP), United Press International (UPI) and most recently Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association (OPSWA) has served as the selection source for determining and announcing statewide honors for all inter-scholastic athletics in Ohio. This section recognizes the 242 Dayton City League athletes that have received post season honors and recognition from the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) for their individual accomplishments, leadership, and team success. The Dayton City League is especially proud of its five Ohio Basketball Player of the Year and one Ohio Football Player of the Year Award Recipients and seventy-five State Track Champions.
